Although Diablo 4 is nearly here, and it's guaranteed to bring tons of awesome content and experiences for all players, there is still more to come. As with other games, Diablo 4 introduces a Season Journey that offers more content, such as new enemies, gear, and weaponry.
But what is the Season Journey for Diablo 4, and how does it work? Well, don't fret, as this guide will cover everything you need to know about the Season Journey we'll be seeing in Diablo 4.
Update on 9 August 2023: We've updated this article with the latest info on Diablo 4's Season Journey.Diablo 4 - What is the Season Journey?
Season Journey is a new but more complex gameplay mechanic in Diablo 4 that offers new quests, story content, new characters, and live events. It is designed to provide players with opportunities to farm in-game resources, whether they're playing solo or with friends.
As the developers stated in their recent blog post describing the mechanic, " The Season Journey will be invaluable in helping you quickly level up your Battle Pass, as this is done through completing Chapters that are comprised of Objectives. Completing all Objectives in a Chapter will score you Seasonal rewards, such as useful Crafting Materials and Legendary Aspects for your Codex of Power."
To get more into the details, the mechanic is divided into chapters, each of which offers limited-time rewards. As players progress through the chapters, the missions become increasingly challenging, with the final chapters being particularly difficult even for veteran players.
Completing Season Journey is an excellent way to explore Sanctuary anew after completing the main story and obtain valuable time-limited rewards. However, it is essential to note that everything is much more complex than it may initially seem. Each Season Journey culminates in a challenging fight against an especially dangerous enemy or boss-type creature, so be prepared for it.
As in the previous Diablo, the Season Journey is entirely free, and every player has access to it at launch. The only limitation is your power, skill, and teamwork if you're working through it with your buddies.
Furthermore, completing Season Journey is a great way to progress through the Battle Pass. For players who are willing to spend real money in the game, they can purchase the premium version of the Battle Pass to receive increased rewards as well, but it's not needed to clear the Season Journey. But for now, that's everything you need to know about the Season Journey and what to expect from it once Diablo 4 releases on 2 June 2023.
